ACCREDITATION

Christian Horizons is embarking on an exciting new initiative to support our goal of offering the best quality supports and services.  As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure that we are providing services that meet or exceed the needs of all people, Christian Horizons has decided to participate in the process of Accreditation. 

Accreditation is an ongoing process of quality improvement.  Christian Horizons entered into an agreement with FOCUS Accreditation Services to conduct an external validation of the quality of supports to people across Ontario.  The process includes reviewing the effectiveness and efficiency of supports and services in a number of different areas, such as finances, human resources, board governance, person centred support, health, safety & wellness, friends, family, & community, organizational learning and more. 

A preparation process has begun which involves reviewing standards and improving where necessary in anticipation of the on-site validation visit by FOCUS.  FOCUS Accreditation Services will send a review team, including trained validators from other social service agencies, to perform site visits and conduct interviews with people supported and their families, staff, and board members.  Every three years, this process will repeat itself, strengthening our ongoing quality improvement efforts.  We are excited about the prospect of confirming our existing strengths and further developing our areas for potential.

We believe that Accreditation will help us as we seek to honour God and value people in all we do and with all our resources.
