On July 29, 2006, a team of five CH volunteers led by Neil Cudney, left for Howell Michigan to offer support to our sister organization, Christian Horizons Inc. The focus of this trip was to counsel and minister to the needs of approximately 70 campers with special needs. Throughout the one week camp session, the team was involved in serving persons with a wide range of disabilities.

CH and Christian Horizons Inc. (based in Michigan) are working together to help improve the quality of life for individuals with exceptional needs in the United States and are now working together on developing global programs. Unlike CH in Canada, Christian Horizons Inc. is almost entirely made up of volunteers; the organization has only recently hired their first staff person.

Overall, this was a very positive week for the volunteers. Good relationships were built with the staff in Michigan who invited, “the Canadians” back for next summer.
