Christian Horizons (“CH”) and Children’s Homes International (“CHI”), an organization that seeks to meet the needs of children at risk, have had a long-term relationship in serving complementary/similar populations. The founders of CH (Jim and Adrienne Reese) and the founders of CHI (Ed and Nancy Sider) have discussed the possibility of combining CHI with the Global Projects Division of CH. They are in agreement that such a union would enable greater efficiencies as well as opportunities to serve more people.

A proposal was presented to the Board of Directors of CH on January 29, 2007 and the Board of Directors of CHI on February 1, 2007. The Boards of Directors of both organizations unanimously supported the combination of the two organizations with an effective date of April 1, 2007. The combined operations would be set up in a separate organization known as Christian Horizons Global. The board of CH would oversee this organization.

The combining of CH (global projects) and CHI comes as a sincere desire to respond to the needs of people with special needs in Canada and around the world. This desire is not limited to services provided today, but for future services as well. Together CH and CHI have many years of experience, visionary boards of directors, strong leadership teams, a financial base of generous donors and well-equipped staff and volunteers.
