Ed Sider, Chief Executive Officer
Ed has served with Christian Horizons for 28 years and currently serves as CEO. He joined the ministry in 1978 and has served in several different capacities during his 28-year tenure with this ministry.
Prior to joining Christian Horizons, Ed and his wife Nancy served through the Brethren in Christ Church Missions in Pennsylvania, USA and Zimbabwe, Africa from 1972-1977. Their focus was on the most vulnerable of society: children and adults with disabilities.
Ed’s passion is to make a practical and spiritual difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities. He in energized by how spiritual change in one individual’s life will impact thousands of individuals for God through the generations.
In addition to serving with Christian Horizons, Ed has 16 years of volunteer experience with Children’s Home International - a ministry that focuses primarily on orphaned children in Central America, Africa and Asia.
Ed is able to speak to a wide variety of topics including Leading a Non-Profit Organization or Ministry, Board Relations, Succession Planning, Developing Vision for Growth and Mission.
A graduate in Social Services from Niagara College, Ed is a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.

Michael Alemu, Vice President OperationsMichael has served with Christian Horizons for 21 years and currently serves as Vice President of Operations. Through these 21 years, he has gained valuable leadership experience in the Developmental Services sector. He has advocated for individuals with a developmental disability, developed programs and empowered leaders to better serve these individuals, in Ontario and on the Global stage.
Michael directs Christian Horizons’ Global Ministries, which currently provides assistance in Ethiopia, Russia, Sri Lanka, Ecuador and Guatemala. The goal of this ministry is to help make social inclusion a reality. Christian Horizons has 40 plus years of experience and has felt the call to use this knowledge and expertise to promote the dignity, equality and fundamental rights of individuals with disabilities on a global level.
In addition to serving with Christian Horizons, Michael has 16 years of volunteer experience in Children’s Home International, which works primarily with orphaned children in Central America, Africa and Asia.
Michael is an inspirational speaker and is able to relate to his audience on a variety of levels. Whether he is recounting his personal testimony of fleeing as a refugee from his homeland, or telling stories of his experiences in working with persons with disabilities both locally and globally, he is sure to leave his audience touched and awestruck. Michael is also available to conduct Leadership seminars/workshops.
Michael holds a B.A. and Masters of Social Work. He is also a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, as well the North American Association of Christians in Social Work.

Grace Loney, Vice President Finance and AdministrationGrace has served with Christian Horizons for 8 years and currently serves as CFO. As a Charted Accountant, she has 20 years experience in the areas of financial management and strategic planning, specifically within Non-Profit Organizations and Charities.
Prior to joining Christian Horizons, Grace spent 10 years in public accounting and specialized in the area of not-for-profit accounting and auditing. An additional 3 years was spent at a not-for-profit organization gaining valuable management experience.
In addition, she has served in the capacity of treasurer of her home church and for a variety of community associations. The Good $ense Ministry is another focal point for Grace. Through this ministry, she conducts seminars that equip participants with tools and guidelines to lead a God-honouring financial lifestyle.
Grace is available to teach/facilitate workshops on financial and strategic management, budgeting and developing new business concepts/business plans for the not-for-profit organization.
Grace holds a B. Comm. (Hons) as well as the Chartered Accountant professional designation.

Neil Cudney, Director Pastoral MinistriesNeil has served with Christian Horizons for 10 years and currently serves as Director of Pastoral Ministries. Throughout his tenure at Christian Horizons, he has held several positions that range from support staff to his present leadership position.
Prior to joining Christian Horizons, Neil worked with a variety of Social Service organizations. He has also served as a Senior Pastor and Church Planter for the church community. As such, he brings a unique perspective that is representative of both the church and para-church organizations.
Neil is passionate about Spiritual Formation and leadership, both individually and corporately. He is an effective communicator who is able to inspire enthusiasm for mission and a desire for change.
In his role as Director of Pastoral Ministries, Neil travels throughout the province speaking and working with staff teams. He would be able to speak to topics such as Ministries and Supports Related to Disabilities, Vision/Mission Statements for Churches/Leadership, Issues of Justice and Disability, and Building Relationships within the Church and in the surrounding Community.
Neil holds a diploma of Social Work, a B.A. and a Masters of Theology.

Peter Wyngaarden, Director of Clinical, Research and Education ServicesPeter has served with Christian Horizons for almost 2 decades and currently serves as Director of Clinical Services. As a therapist, Peter has worked with children, adolescents and adults who have a dual diagnosis (i.e., intellectual disabilities and mental illness).
In his personal life, Peter has a family member who has a disability. Therefore, he has combined his personal experiences with his professional background in direct support, research and clinical support. Peter has also conducted support groups for siblings of individuals with an intellectual disability.
It is Peter’s vision that individuals with exceptional needs become fully participating community members. As such, his presentations focus on providing faith communities with tools and strategies that support full inclusion.
As a speaker, Peter has presented courses and workshops in academic, professional and church settings on topics such as: person centred supports, team work, consent issues, working with persons who have come into contact with the criminal justice system, dealing with challenging behaviours, ethical issues, autism, abuse issues, and aspects of human development.
Peter holds a B.A. and Masters of Science in Psychology.

Eugene Versteeg, Director of Human ResourcesEugene has served with Christian Horizons for over 10 years and currently serves as the Director of Human Resources. Eugene has over 15 years experience in Developmental Services within a variety of positions from residential support worker through management to his present role.
Eugene directs the Human Resource needs of Christian Horizons, which presently employs nearly 2,500 staff. Eugene’s passion is to equip leaders and managers with a practical understanding of Employment Law to enhance relationships and maintain positive employee relations.
As a speaker and facilitator, Eugene has led discussions relating to standards and laws relating to employment as well as team dynamics.
Eugene holds a B.A. in Therapeutic Recreation and is a member of the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario.

Matthew Bradbury, Director of Camps and ExcursionsMatthew’s passion for ministry is to help ‘least reached’ peoples receive Christ and become disciple-making followers of Jesus. Matthew has served over 5 years with Christian Horizons during the late 1980’s and early 1990’s and currently directs the Camps and Excursions ministry. The Camps and Excursions ministry works globally, to support the church in providing ‘life changing’ experiences for individuals with exceptional needs.
As a speaker and teacher, Matthew carries a global perspective with a challenge to fruitful ministry.
Matthew, married for 19 years, and father to 3, brings the experience and heart for cross-cultural missions, business development, and spiritual growth. Matthew holds a B.R.E. in Missions, and is a Master’s level graduate in Cross Cultural Communication. He has served as a Senior Pastor within the Brethren in Christ denomination, where he currently serves on both the Canadian and General Conference Mission Board.

Mark Wallace, Pastoral Ministries Mark has been providing pastoral care and teaching to individuals serving in
ministry for over 10 years. His passion is to re-energize and re-focus the
"hands and feet" of the church.
Mark has a pastoral focus and wishes to see every worker ministering out of a
fullness of the "abundant life" and to fight against spiritual and physical
burnout. He has a love for narrative scripture and the Old Testament in
particular.
Mark is currently finishing a Masters of Theology at Tyndale seminary.
