How will my monthly gifts impact the life of my
sponsored child?
The financial contributions that you provide
through monthly sponsorship go directly to the care of your child and not to
community development. Your child lives in their own community and is
raised by a family.
A
Christian Horizons staff visits regularly to monitor care and ensure your child
receives proper health and nutrition,
education, tutoring and school supplies. The staff also provides resources and
ensures that your child has access to extracurricular activities such as drama,
music, sports and spiritual development.
All CH programs/projects are administrated directly by CH staff and
not through a third party or government body.
Can I communicate with my child? Yes, we would be glad to help
you to correspond with your sponsored child.
Please prepare your correspondence by following these steps:
1 - Send your letters and pictures to Christian Horizons (please
clearly mark your child's name and country on the envelope
2 - Once a month, we will send all letters to the Christian Horizons office
in the corresponding country to be translated and delivered to your sponsored
child during one of our staff's regular visits.
3 - When your child responds to the letter, it will be translated and then
forwarded back to you.
How are children chosen?
We work with governments and local organizations to determine where the greatest needs are. Relationships are built with communities and villages to start a sponsorship program.
What is your financial accountability?
Christian Horizons is audited annually by external auditors and is a member of the Canadian Council of Christian Charities.
If I use my credit card to sponsor, how is my financial information kept secure?
We use third party services to ensure the highest level of security and privacy of your financial information.
Will I receive a tax receipt?
Tax receipts will be issued annually for all sponsorship and donation related transactions.
Can I visit my child?
You may visit your sponsored child. Please let us know.

What happens if I cannot continue my sponsorship? If financial
circumstances change and you are no longer able to continue your sponsorship,
please contact us as soon as possible so other arrangements can be made for your
sponsored child/children.
I am unable to make a monthly commitment, but would still like to make a
donation for the benefit of children at risk.
You can make donations at anytime by visiting our
Donations page. Your financial gift will be used as designated or where most needed.
