Formerly known as Children’s Homes International, Christian Horizons Ethiopia is a well-established nongovernmental organization serving the Oromia Region of Ethiopia since 1992. From the small beginnings of caring for six orphans living in a group setting, the organization has now grown to support well over 40,000 individuals in children’s services, basic education, adult literacy, adult and youth skills training, special needs education, income-generating projects, and leadership development. Our goal is to equip and empower women, people with disabilities, disadvantaged groups, and local communities to become economically self-sufficient.

Christian Horizons Ethiopia is the most developed program of Christian Horizons Global. It serves 26 districts through two program offices and four project units. The local income projects generate up to 25% of its operational funds through projects such as an integrated wood and metal work production, block manufacturing, technical school fees and a café. Christian Horizons Ethiopia is led by a high-calibre leadership team and is supported by committed staff and volunteers. The Christian Horizons Ethiopia leaders and our activities are well recognized for service delivery, accountability, and transparency by the government and the communities we serve.
